Perceptual Puzzle #19- Splitting Up The Stars -

Puzzle Image What is the fewest number of circles that need to be drawn so that each of the 10 stars are separated (boxed in) from the others? 10 circles would obviously separate each star from the others, as would 9, but what is the fewest number of circles that would suffice?

Note that two stars are considered separate if they are completely enclosed by portions of the various circles that have been drawn and/or the edge of the image.
Do you have a suggestion for this puzzle (e.g. something that should be mentioned/clarified in the question or solution, bug, typo, etc.)?
